Chandler Mtn dominates the northern reaches of this Maine landscape, rising above a network of drainages and isolated water bodies. The terrain is defined by a heavy presence of wetlands and branching waterways, including Chandler Lake and Burnt Pond. The Aroostook River winds through the southeastern portion of the quadrangle, passing Gilman Beach as it flows toward the county line. This 2018 survey reveals a territory primarily managed for timber and conservation, with travel limited to unpaved corridors such as Pinkham Rd and Oxbow Rd. Along the southern border, the boundary between Aroostook and Penobscot counties cuts across the paths of Mooseleuk Stream and LaPomkeag Stream, marking a remote intersection of wilderness and legal administrative lines.
