The Medicine Bow Mountains and Never Summer Mountains converge in this high-altitude landscape along the border of Jackson and Larimer counties. Evidence of the region’s timber history is visible at the Bockman Lumber Camp and Willey Lumber Camp, situated among a dense network of forest roads and trails. The terrain is defined by extreme elevations, including Clark Peak and Cameron Peak, while the Michigan Ditch Trl and Upper Michigan Ditch trace the complex water management systems of the continental divide.
