Clover Butte anchors the northern portion of this Owyhee County landscape, rising amidst the high desert terrain of southern Idaho. The area is characterized by vast open range and critical water sources such as Leo Waterhole and Valley Waterhole, which provide essential resources in an otherwise arid environment. This 2020 survey demonstrates the ongoing importance of these landmarks for livestock management and navigation in a region defined by its remoteness and high elevation. Transportation through the quadrangle is largely restricted to Three Creek Rd, which skirts the eastern edge, connecting the sparse high-plateau features with more traveled routes. The map provides a contemporary view of the Public Land Survey System divisions, specifically parts of townships T12S R8E, T12S R9E, T13S R8E, and T13S R9E.
