Mesa de Maya dominates the northern skyline of this high-plateau landscape, where the land falls away into a complex network of drainages and dramatic geological features. The terrain is defined by prominent elevations such as Jesus Mesa, Cobert Mesa, and the isolated Seven L Buttes. Between these heights, the country is carved by numerous named canyons, including Honeymoon Canyon, Steel Trap Canyon, and Flathead Canyon.
