Cochetopa Dome rises above a landscape defined by ranching and water management in this high-altitude Saguache County basin. The Cochetopa Park area is a convergence of numerous drainages, including Archuleta Creek and Los Creek, which feed into larger systems like Cochetopa Creek. Significant irrigation infrastructure is visible through the Mesa Ditch and Perry Ditch, supporting the Quarter Circle Ranch located in the southwestern corner.
