Craters Of The Moon National Preserve dominates the northern reaches of this Idaho landscape, where the high desert meets a series of specialized water management features. The area's reliance on strategic irrigation and water storage is evident through a network of man-made and natural catchments, including Section Twenty-Eight Reservoir and the Kimama Marsh Reservoir. These features, along with Community Lake, represent the vital infrastructure required to support agricultural and ranching efforts in the arid Snake River Plain.
