McEntire Joint National Guard Base occupies a significant portion of this Richland County landscape, situated amidst a network of rural communities and managed water bodies. The settlement of Congaree lies to the south of the base, while Hopkins and Pinewood anchor the southwestern corner of the quadrangle. The terrain is defined by a dense drainage system including Mill Creek, Cedar Cr, and Toms Cr, which feed into numerous named impoundments such as Morrells Pond, Harmons Pond, and Jordans Pond.

Genealogists and local historians will find several established residential areas and family-named landmarks, including the Logues Cem and Gwinn Field.
