The high ridgelines of the Wassuk Range dominate this portion of Mineral County, rising toward the prominent summits of Cory Peak and Big Indian Mtn. This landscape is defined by its transition from high-elevation peaks to the vast institutional boundaries of the Hawthorne Army Depot in the north and the Toiyabe National Forest in the south. These managed lands are crisscrossed by historical routes and modern access ways, including the winding Lucky Boy Pass Rd which climbs through Lucky Boy Pass.
