Saline Valley dominates the central portion of this survey, where the floor of the Mojave Desert meets the dramatic western slopes of the Inyo Mountains. Much of the terrain lies within Death Valley National Park, capturing a landscape defined by dramatic elevation changes and arid drainage systems. A notable Salt Lake occupies the valley floor, fed seasonally by runoff from Waucoba Wash to the north.
