Daulton and the surrounding foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains are defined by an intricate network of water management and rural aviation. The Madera Canal cuts through the landscape, feeding the Madera Equalization Reservoir and supporting the agricultural needs of the Central Valley. The drainage of the Fresno River and its S Fork dictate the local topography, leading toward Madera Lake and the significant basin of Hensley Lake at the northeast corner of the quadrangle.
