Deep Creek Canyon and the high drainage basins of the Strawberry River define this high-altitude landscape along the western edge of the Uinta Basin. The area is characterized by a complex network of steep drainages and hollows, including Wildcat Canyon and Beaver Canyon, which feed into the larger creek systems. These watercourses were vital for early ranching and livestock operations in the region.
