Lake Superior dominates the southern portion of this Keweenaw County survey, meeting the shoreline at Betsy Bay and the prominent Black Rock Point. The landscape is defined by its complex hydrography, with the Little Gratiot River and Big Betsy River draining the northern forested tracts toward the great lake. A network of primitive and secondary roads, including Gay Rd and Betsy Cottage Rd, provides access to the coastal margins where small drainages like Winters Cr enter the lake.
