Elysian serves as the central hub of this lake-studded landscape on the border of Le Sueur and Waseca counties. The area is defined by a dense network of water bodies, from the expansive Lake Elysian in the south to Lake Francis and Tetonka Lake in the north. The presence of numerous family and community burial grounds, including Cedar Hill Cem, Round Lake Cem, and the Dehn Family Cem, indicates a long-settled rural community with deep genealogical roots.
