Evergreen Shores and the northern outskirts of St. Ignace anchor this coastal landscape along the Straits of Mackinac. Much of the western terrain is protected within the Hiawatha National Forest, where small water bodies like Gamble Lake and Satago Lake dot the wooded landscape. The map captures a high degree of coastal detail, from the sharp profile of Castle Rock to the distinct peninsula at Rabbit Back Point and its accompanying Rabbit Back Peak.

Infrastructure is concentrated along the shoreline corridor, featuring the Mackinac County Airport and the Saint Ignace Cem. Beyond the mainland, the survey extends across Lake Huron to include the northwestern tip of Mackinac Island at British Landing, as well as the Saint Martin Islands further north.
