About this map

Waquoit Bay and its complex network of inlets and islands dominate the eastern portion of this coastal survey. The mid-century landscape is defined by the narrow peninsulas of Falmouth and Mashpee, where numerous glacial kettle ponds such as Johns Pond and Coonamessett Pond dot the inland terrain. Cultural revision from 1946 shows the established coastal settlements of Falmouth Heights and Menauhant along the Vineyard Sound shoreline, while inland agriculture is represented by several cranberry bogs scattered near East Falmouth.
