Fountain Springs and the surrounding Tulare County landscape are defined by a network of ranching properties and historic transit corridors. The topography shifts from the flat agricultural grid of the San Joaquin Valley floor to the rising foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Evidence of early California travel remains in the paths of Old Stage Coach Rd and Old Stage Rd, which skirt the base of prominent terrain features like Tennessee Ridge and Tennessee Knob.
