Lake Ontario dominates the northern half of this coastal survey, where the shoreline is defined by Smoky Point and the modest inlet of Bear Greek Harbor. This portion of the Wayne County shoreline shows a transition from lakeside seasonal or residential communities to inland agricultural and residential patterns. The settlement at Ontario on the Lake and the inland hamlet of Lakeside are connected by a network of local routes including Co Rd 101 and Lakeside Rd, illustrating the development of the lakefront relative to the interior.
