The Quimper Peninsula and Miller Peninsula frame the deep waters of Discovery Bay in this 2014 survey of the Olympic Peninsula coastline. The settlement of Gardiner sits at the head of the bay, flanked by Gardiner Cemetery and the northern curve of Highway 101. To the west, the community of Blyn is situated near the Blyn Lookout, showing a landscape defined by significant elevation changes from sea level to the ridges of the Miller Peninsula. Coastal features such as Thompson Spit, Rocky Point, and Beckett Point highlight the intricate shoreline where the bay meets the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Land use on the northern tip of the Miller Peninsula is anchored by the Diamond Point Airstrip and a network of local roads including Diamond Point Blvd and Rhododendron, illustrating the modern residential and recreational character of this maritime corridor.
