The confluence of the Middle Fork Clearwater River and the Selway River anchors this mid-1990s survey of the Nez Perce National Forest. The landscape is dominated by steep drainages and prominent ridges, including Radcliff Ridge and the high vantage of Goddard Point. While the area is largely characterized by its natural watercourses like O'Hara Creek and Hamby Fork, signs of federal management and infrastructure are evident. Notable landmarks include a Gaging Station and a Communication Facility perched above the river canyons.
