Gu Oidak sits at the heart of this desert landscape within the Papago Indian Reservation, which was documented here in the late 1980s. The settlement is positioned near a small Cem and is surrounded by a network of drainage systems including Sells Wash and Murk Kui Wash. The terrain is defined by two prominent basins, the Gu Oidak Valley and Sells Valley, where water management is central to the land's utility. Scattered throughout the quadrangle are numerous named catchments such as Kuke Chehedagi Tank, Gohke Tank, and Pan Tank, reflecting a reliance on these critical water sources in an arid environment. These features, along with the alignment of San Luis Wash and Pan Wash, illustrate the natural irrigation patterns that shaped the region's human geography and ranching potential before modern developments further altered the desert floor.
