The Egan Range dominates this high-altitude landscape where the borders of White Pine and Lincoln counties meet. This interior portion of the Great Basin is defined by a series of critical water sources that would have been vital for ranching and travel in this arid environment, including Haggerty Spring and the curiously named Stink-Pot Spring. The terrain is deeply incised by drainages such as Milk Ranch Canyon and Ninemile Canyon, which fall away from the heights of Ninemile Mtn.
