Ancient shoreline engineering and traditional Hawaiian landmarks define this 2013 coastal survey of southeastern Moloka‘i. The landscape is dominated by a remarkable series of historical aquaculture structures, including the Kūpeke Fishpond, Kihaloko Fishpond, and Kula‘alamihi Fishpond, which line the interface between the land and the Pacific Ocean. Inland from these coastal features, the terrain is marked by numerous drainage channels such as Kuakea Gulch and Punaula Gulch.
