Hart Mtn towers over the dramatic transition between the high desert peaks and the expansive basin of Warner Valley. This landscape is defined by its complex hydrology, where Givens Slough feeds into the significant waters of Hart Lake, surrounded by smaller bodies like Anderson Lake and Vinyard Lake. The eastern face of the massif is deeply incised by steep drainages, including Arsenic Canyon, Potter Canyon, and De Garmo Canyon, which show the intricate drainage patterns of South Fork DeGarmo Canyon and North Fork DeGarmo Canyon. Access through this remote terrain is primarily facilitated by Hart Mountain Rd, which skirts the base of the mountains near the lake's northern shore. The map provides a precise look at the seasonal watercourses like Norton Cr and Stockade Cr that flow from the highlands toward the valley floor.
