Hazard and Sweetwater anchor this central Nebraska landscape along the border of Sherman and Buffalo counties. The terrain is defined by the winding course of Mud Cr, which flows through a network of smaller tributaries including Bloody Run Cr and Spring Br. In the southern portion of the quadrangle, Pleasant Valley provides a distinct topographic contrast to the surrounding drainage basins.
