Harris Dam and the Kennebec River define the western edge of this Somerset County landscape, where the controlled waters of Indian Pond dominate the northern terrain. The area is characterized by a dense network of water bodies and drainage systems, including Little Indian Stream and Indian Stream, which flow through timberlands marked by topographic rises such as Little Indian Hill and Burnt Nubble. Access to this backcountry is provided by several primitive routes, including Vip RD, Indian Pond Rd, and Moose Walk Rd.
