About this map

Indian Pond and the headwaters of the Kennebec River dominate this Maine landscape along the border of Somerset and Piscataquis counties. The terrain is defined by an intricate network of wetlands and small water bodies, including the aptly named Little Indian Bog, Scribner Bog, and Elbow Bog. These low-lying areas are fed by numerous watercourses such as Indian Stream, Little Indian Stream, and Black Brook, which carve through the timberlands.
