Lava flows and volcanic formations dominate this high-desert terrain within the Mojave, as recorded in the early 1980s. A prominent Cinder Cone rises above extensive Lava Beds, illustrating the region's intense geologic activity. Water sources in this arid environment are sparse, marked primarily by Cane Spring and Indian Spring, along with seasonal drainages like Indian Creek, Willow Wash, and Black Wash.

Evidence of desert industry and land use is visible at the Rainy Day Mine and various stock-watering points such as Tank Seven (Dry), Tank Five, and Tank Six. A Corral and a Guzzler indicate the presence of ranching or wildlife management efforts. Large-scale infrastructure is represented by Steel Transmission Lines cutting across the southern portion of the quadrangle, while a network of 4wd tracks provides the only access through this desolate landscape.
