Jarbidge sits at the northern edge of this high-elevation survey, tucked into the steep Jarbidge Canyon within the Humboldt National Forest. The landscape is dominated by the dramatic peaks of the Jarbidge Mountains and the Copper Mountains, reaching significant heights at Matterhorn and Jarbidge Peak. This area in Elko County serves as a critical watershed, where the Jarbidge River flows north through deep gorges like Gorge Gulch and Snowslide Gulch.

Evidence of the region's mining and transit history is preserved through labels for the Bluster Mine and a complex network of pack trails and early roads, including the Charleston-Jarbidge route and the Telephone Trail. High-altitude basins and meadows, such as Bear Creek Meadows and Copper Basin, illustrate the transition from timberline to alpine peaks. To the south, the terrain descends toward the Seventy-Six Basin and the headwaters of the West Marys River.
