Kippen sits in the northern reaches of this Toole County landscape, where the high plains are deeply incised by a network of drainage features. The area is defined by its series of coulees, including Fifteenmile Coulee, Ninemile Coulee, and the namesake Johannson Coulee, which create a complex topography across the township sections. These natural depressions and seasonal watercourses like Willow Cr shaped the local road network, including Oilmont Hwy and Gus Blaze Rd.
