Kaho'olawe island, part of Maui County, reveals a landscape defined by its coastal points and volcanic peaks. The interior is marked by high points such as Pu'u 'O Moa'ula Iki and several lua, or craters, including Lua 'O Keaualuna and Lua 'O Keaualalo. Drainage patterns across the island are established by numerous steep gulches like Kaukamoku Gulch and Kaulana Gulch, which lead down to the Pacific Ocean.
