King Lear Peak stands as the primary landmark in this high-desert landscape within the Jackson Mountains of Humboldt County. The terrain is defined by a series of steep drainages and canyons, most notably McGill Canyon in the west and the complex network of Big Cedar Creek, Little Cedar Creek, and Clover Creek to the east. These intermittent watercourses suggest a landscape shaped by seasonal runoff and high-elevation springs, such as Buckbrush Springs located near the western edge of the quadrangle.
