Haleyville and Littleville anchor the southern portion of this landscape, where the northern edges of residential development meet the deeply incised drainages of the William B. Bankhead National Forest. This survey shows a transition between the plateau settlements and the intricate canyon systems of the Sipsey Fork drainage. The Tennessee Valley Divide snakes across the southern portion of the sheet, separating the waters that flow toward the Tennessee River from those feeding the Upper Bear Creek Reservoir.
