Crowley Ridge anchors this 1980s topographic study of the Arkansas Delta, where the unique upland terrain meets the bottomlands of the St Francis River and L'Anguille River. Much of the central elevation is preserved within the St Francis National Forest, a landscape marked by numerous hollows like Ripper Hollow and Ebos Hollow. The settlement of La Grange sits at the southwestern edge of the ridge, served by the Missouri Pacific railroad line.
