The Wenatchee River winds through the heart of this landscape, emerging from Tumwater Canyon to meet the settlement of Leavenworth. As it appeared in the early 21st century, the area is defined by the sharp transition between the township and the surrounding Wenatchee National Forest. Historical and civic landmarks are prominently featured, including the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery located south of town and the Wenatchee River Ranger District-Leavenworth Office near the river bend.
