1972 Map of Ledyard

USGS Topo · Published 1975

About this map

Ledyard serves as the central hub of this agricultural landscape in northern Kossuth County, situated at the junction of the Chicago and North Western railroad and local thoroughfares. The 1970s terrain is heavily defined by an extensive water management system, including Ditch No 1, Drainage Ditch No 3, and the channelized reaches of the West Branch Blue Earth River. These engineered waterways cut through the prairie to drain the lowlands surrounding Union Slough on the eastern edge of the quadrangle.
