Sierra Grande dominates the western topography of this Union County landscape, where the high plains of northeastern New Mexico meet distinctive volcanic rises. The settlement of Grande and the nearby location of Little Grande sit along the primary transit corridor, served by a network of rural routes including Weatherly Rd and Martinez Rd. The arid terrain is defined by a dendritic drainage system, notably the headwaters and branches of S Br Corrumpa Cr and N Br Corrumpa Cr, which carve through the high-elevation steppe. To the south, the watershed transitions toward Seneca Cr and Gallegos Cr. This map captures the modern distribution of ranching roads and sections within the t29n r29e and t28n r30e townships, illustrating how contemporary infrastructure follows the natural contours of the mesas and creek beds.
