About this map

The industrial and natural landscapes of the Pinal County region are defined by the convergence of the Gila River and San Pedro River. By the mid-1980s, the copper mining legacy of the area is centered on the massive San Manuel Mine and the accompanying San Manuel Arizona RR, which snakes through the desert terrain. To the north, the confluence of the rivers near Winkelman and Hayden anchors a corridor of settlement that includes Dudleyville.
