Garden City and the surrounding prairie lands of central Iowa are captured here at the intersection of Hamilton, Hardin, and Story Counties. The landscape is defined by the rectilinear grid of agricultural roads, such as Co Hwy D65 and Co Rd S14, which partition the fertile terrain between the western edge of Roland and the eastern limits of McCallsburg. Several watercourses, including Bear Cr and E Indian Cr, meander across the township lines, providing natural drainage for the vast farmsteads that have sustained this region for generations.
