Miesville anchors the northern portion of this landscape, situated along a network of country roads including 240th St E and State Hwy 316. The area is defined by its religious and commemorative sites, notably the Saint Joseph Catholic Cem near the town center and the Cannon River Lutheran Church Cem further south. The southern terrain transitions into the winding drainage of the Cannon River, which forms a natural boundary between Dakota Co and Goodhue Co. This river corridor is paralleled by the Cannon River Trl, cutting through Clark Valley as it moves toward the confluence with Belle Cr. The presence of the River Ridge Ranch Airport on the eastern bluffs suggests a modern use of the elevated plateaus overlooking the river valley.
