The topography is dominated by the Sand Tank Mountains to the north and the Sauceda Mountains to the west, separated by expansive drainages like Sauceda Wash. Small settlements such as Moivayi and Kaka are situated along the margins of the Hickiwan Valley and Kaka Valley, providing a look at indigenous community locations and land use in the late 20th century.
