Mount Reuben and the surrounding high country of the Southern Oregon Coast Range define this 2017 survey at the border of Douglas and Josephine counties. The landscape is characterized by a dense network of gulches and creeks, including California Gulch, China Gulch, and Gold Bug Gulch, which reflect the region's long history of mineral exploration and prospecting. The southern portion of the map is dominated by the course of the Rogue River, where it meets Grave Creek at the notable Grave Creek Bridge.
