O. H. Ivie Reservoir dominates the northern landscape of this region, where the Colorado River is impounded at the boundary of Coleman and Concho counties. The terrain is defined by a dense network of seasonal drainage, most notably the many branches of Mustang Creek. These include the N Fork, E Fork, W Fork, and Middle Fork Mustang Cr, which together carve a series of ridges and valleys across the West Texas ranch land.
