Nipomo serves as the primary residential hub on this Central Coast quadrangle, situated at the base of the Santa Maria Valley’s northern slopes. The landscape transitions quickly from the town's street grid into the steep, wrinkled terrain of the southern Coast Ranges. Significant drainage systems such as Nipomo Cr and Deleissigues Cr carve through the foothills, while the northeast corner of the map is dominated by the Huasna Valley and the waters of Twitchell Reservoir on the Santa Maria River.
