The San Juan River carves through this high desert region of San Juan County, Utah, defining the northern geography within the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. The landscape is dominated by high plateaus and deep incisions, notably No Mans Mesa in the southeast and the expansive Piute Mesa to the southwest. These geological features are separated by intricate drainages such as Nokai Cr, which feeds into the larger Nokai Canyon before reaching the river.
