Oronto Bay defines the shoreline of Lake Superior where the boundary between Wisconsin and Michigan meets the water. This 2015 survey reveals a network of rural roads such as Hoyt Rd and Co Hwy A that link the small settlement of Cedar and the Lake View Cem with the coast. The topography is marked by several watercourses, including Graveyard Cr, Carpenter Cr, and Spoon Cr, which feed into the bay. The presence of the Saxon Airport and Saxon Harbor indicates the area's role as a point of transit and access for both air and water, while a portion of the Ottawa National Forest occupies the Michigan side of the border.
