Paicines sits at the northern end of this survey, where the San Benito River and Tres Pinos Cr converge near the Paicines Reservoir. The landscape is defined by the significant geological presence of the San Andreas Fault, which cuts diagonally through the center of the sheet, separating the rolling heights of the Diablo Range from the Gabilan Range to the southwest. This fault line creates a distinct corridor for Cienega Rd as it travels through the Cienega Valley.
