Pastora Peak and Zilbetod Peak dominate the high-elevation landscape of the Carrizo Mountains in this high-desert region of northeast Arizona. The terrain is defined by dramatic geological formations, including the broad Chezhindeza Mesa and Toh Chin Lini Mesa, which are separated by a complex network of seasonal drainages. These arroyos, such as Dry Farm Wash, Tso Tsosic Wash, and White Rock Wash, carve deep into the plateau, revealing the intricate topography of the Navajo Nation.
