Tahquamenon Bay on the southern edge of Lake Superior dominates the northern reaches of this coastal landscape. The terrain is defined by a dense network of water bodies and drainage systems, including the inland basins of Piatt Lake, Johnson Lake, and Duck Lake. A series of forest roads, such as W East-West Rd and S Piatt Lake Rd, provides access to the interior, where recreational and administrative landmarks like the Eckerman Lookout Tower and Blessed Hope Camp are located.
