About this map

Hebgen Lake Day Use Area sits at the southern edge of this high-elevation landscape, where the waters of Hebgen Lake meet the mountain foothills at the turn of the 21st century. The terrain is defined by the high crest of Wapiti Ridge and the broad depressions of Carrot Basin and Little Basin, features that dictate the drainage patterns of Wapiti Creek and Cabin Creek. Administrative presence in the Gallatin National Forest is evidenced by the Beaver Creek Ranger Station and various communication sites.
