2019 Map of Powder Springs

USGS Topo · Published 2019

About this map

Powder Springs lies at the base of Copper Ridge in a region defined by the linear ridges and valleys of the Appalachian fold-and-thrust belt. The landscape is carved by numerous hollows and gaps, including Acuff Gap and Sugar Tree Gap, which have historically directed movement through the steep terrain. The northern reaches of the map are dominated by the fingers of Norris Lake, where the flooding of the Clinch River valley significantly altered the local geography.
